Tulle, a surprising city to discover

Tulle is the Prefecture of Corrèze, it is not the most populated city (it is Brive, the sub-prefecture), but it has beautiful assets to offer for a walk to discover its heritage. We invite you to stop there to explore it by following its heritage circuit (fr), which will take you on the way to its medieval streets, mansions and its elegant Cathedral. In Tulle and in Corrèze in general, the accordion and famous accordionists are celebrated. Visit the Manufacture Maugein if you appreciate this instrument. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, Tulle comes alive with its weekly market that you will enjoy browsing to stock up on local products, direct from small producers, breeders and market gardeners.

Corrèze must-see: Gimel-les-Cascades

You cannot miss Gimel-les-Cascades, it is an emblematic place of Corrèze, in a green setting, in the middle of a wild nature. Here, you walk with joy taking advantage of the position overlooking the village, which offers superb views of the landscapes of this region classified as a Natura 2000 area. But the highlight of the show are the waterfalls! 4 waterfalls and waterfalls to discover. You have the paid option to enjoy a beautiful staging of these natural beauties, the first 3 waterfalls are to be discovered at Parc Vuillier. You also have the sporty and free version, a hike of about 1h30 at the end of which you will see the 4th waterfall. Don't forget to walk around the whole village, which is superb from the car park at the top to the forest below, passing by the Pont du Péage, its old mill with thatched roof, the castle of Gimel (go to top of the ruins for a nice view).

Discovery of Uzerche

Uzerche is a city that unfolds on the banks of the Vézère, it is dynamic, pretty and dotted with beautiful buildings. Park your car at the top of the village, before taking its small medieval streets which will lead you to its heights up to its Saint-Pierre Abbey; or branch off to join the banks of the Vézère, follow them to the eco-district of the old paper mill. The most beautiful detour in France, Uzerche is surely one and its central location makes it a perfect vacation spot for discovering the Vézère gorges and further north, the Monédières and the Millevaches Regional Natural Park. All around the city, picturesque hikes like the one that will take you to the Cascades de Bialet in Saint-Ybard. On your way you will come across the pretty village of Vigeois in the Vézère gorges.

The Corrèze is dotted with lakes. Some for walking or fishing, small ponds or large dam lakes. Some for swimming or water activities, nature recreation. There is always a body of water nearby to relax, cool off and enjoy beautiful landscapes! North-west of Tulle, the Lac de Bournazel is a perfect place for a day of relaxation with the family. It is open to swimming and you can rent boats there for a nautical excursion on its waters. We walk there, we can bring the picnic and sit on the tables available. The little extra is the Esprit Nature water ski lift, to try your hand at Wake Boarding without risk thanks to a cable that tows the reckless from one end of the lake to the other. Guaranteed sensations! In summer and during the holidays, the Sport Nature Resort in Tulle provides sports activities such as archery, canoeing... Take the opportunity to visit the small village of Seilhac. Another Nature Sports Resort, Lac de Marcillac (also known as Lac de la Valette)! A body of water of 230 ha of happiness, where you can practice water skiing, among other slippery objects: catamaran, optimist, canoe, kayak... A real playground for lovers of nature sports. To the south of Uzerche, the Lac de Pontcharal is more intimate, open to swimming, it is a calm place conducive to family relaxation or long naps under the trees...

• The Cloister Museum in Tulle, is located in the cloister adjacent to the Cathedral, it is a relaxing place with a superb garden. Temporary exhibitions are held there.
• Les Petits Trains de Seilhac, open in the summer to marvel at a sumptuous collection of 20 miniature trains, evolving in a context of remarkably well-made models.
• The Sculpture Garden is at Lagarde Marc-la-Tour, a unique and unusual place to discover when you love sculptures. To visit in the summer or on Saturdays from 9am to 12pm all year round.
• The Château de Sédières, belongs to the Department, it is a place for exhibitions, sports, festive evenings in summer and all year round, the perfect place for weekend walks and during the holidays. Hiking, small paths, lake… A delight.
