Visit of Curemonte

It is its beautiful noble houses that enrich the visit to the village of Curemonte. Take a short half-day to come and walk around. It is a medieval village which is built in height and enjoys a very beautiful view of the surrounding landscapes. The surrounding valleys are devoted to the cultivation of walnut trees and other fruit trees, because the land is generous, as much as the sun!

Curemonte was an important town in the 16th and 17th century, as evidenced by its superb buildings, having belonged to officers serving the local lords. These are ceremonial residences with all the architectural and ostentatious splendor of the time: turrets, slate roofs, mullioned windows, balconies, spiral staircases and watchtowers, crests on the facades... The village being collected with these majestic houses next to each other, it looks like a small fortress. Take a walk to discover its Romanesque churches, the Halle, the Château de Saint-Hilaire and the Château du Plas where the writer Collette lived during the Second World War.
